Alupent is prescribed for a variety of lung related conditions such as asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It helps to relieve the symptoms associated with these conditions by opening the patient's airways, allow them to breathe with greater ease.

Dosage and administration
Suitable dosage can vary from patient to patient depending on what condition is being treated and the condition of the patient. Always seek your doctor's advice for how you should take Alupent.
Dosage can vary from 60mg to 120mg per day, taken either as a single dose or divided throughout the day. The most common prescription is from 60mg to 80mg a day, split over 3 or 4 doses.
The maximum recommended dosage per 24 our period is 100mg. Taking over this amount heightens the risks of tremulousness and palpitations.
Side effects
The most common side effects include those listed below. If any become worrying or bothersome, inform your doctor.
The following side effects are less common. Inform your doctor as soon as possible is you experience any of them.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Possible signs include swelling, trouble breathing or swallowing, tightened throat or chest, skin rashes, and hives.
Precautions
This medication is not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Patients with the following conditions will require close monitoring while taking Alupent tablets:
Before you begin taking Alupent, inform your doctor of any other medication, vitamins, supplements, recreational drugs, or narcotics you are taking. It is particularly important you inform your doctor of any anticholinergics, anaesthetics, beta-blockers, MAO inhibitors, sympathomimetics, theophyllines, or tricyclic antidepressants which you are taking.
Also inform your doctor of any allergies you have, and any existing medical conditions which you suffer from.
