CYCLOPENT

Uses
Cyclopent is given to patients undergoing pediatric eye examinations. It is a mydriatic and cycloplegic agent which helps to enlarge the patient's pupil for easier examining. In addition to this use it may be prescribed for eye conditions related to Posterior synechiae or Uveitis.

Dosage and administration
Under normal circumstances, your doctor will administer the eye drop 30 to 60 minutes before the eye exam and will only use 1 drop every 5-10 minutes.

Do not rub your eye or contaminate your eye with germs as this could lead to complications.

Side effects
The side effects listed below are the most commonly reported. If any bother you, worry you, are persistent, or worsen, inform your doctor as soon as possible.

• Blurred vision
• Burning sensations
• Irritation
• Increased light sensitivity 
• Disorientation
• Disturbances to your speech
• Confusion
• Clumsiness
• Drowsiness
• Changes to your heartbeat
• Seizures
• Flushing
• Hallucinating
• Decreased urination 
• Skin rashes
• Abnormal thirst
• Dry mouth

Seek immediate medical attention if any side effect becomes severe.

Precautions
Always inform your doctor of the following and ensure that this medication is safe for you to take.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you have any allergies
• If you have any are taking any other medication, supplements, or vitamins
• If you have any other existing medical conditions
