Thyronorm

Uses
Thyronorm is normally used by patients who have an under active thyroid to simply replace the hormones that the thyroid gland should normally produce. In addition, it may also be prescribed to treat some thyroid disorders, some examples include thyroid nodules, thyroiditis, thyroid cancer and certain types of goiters.

Dosage and administration
Always take Thyronorm as advised by your doctor. The correct dosage will depend on your individual medical history, weight and condition.

Your doctor may advise you to take each dose on an empty stomach, roughly 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast, alongside plenty of water.

For best results you should take this medicine on a regular basis and try to take each tablet at the same time(s) every day.

Side effects
Always contact your doctor right away if you experience any side effects while using this medicine. Some possible symptoms may include:

• Loss of hair (normally temporary as your body adjusts)
• Abnormal sweating
• Sensitive to heat
• Feeling nervous or erratic mood swings
• Feeling tired
• Diarrhea
• Shaking (tremor), seizures
• Headaches
• Shortness of breath and trouble breathing
• Pain or discomfort in the chest
• Heart beat may become fast, slower or irregular
• Fluid retention, swollen hands, ankles and/or feet
• Allergies (Symptoms include rashes, hives, inability to breath, and itching)

Precautions
Tell your doctor if any of the following apply to you.

• You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding
• You have any allergies
• You use any other medications, supplements, or vitamins (includes non-prescription)
• You are following an unusual diet
• You have had any relevant medical conditions in the past, including increased thyroid hormones (thyrotoxicosis), under active adrenal gland function, heart problems (i.e. coronary artery disease or irregular heartbeat), high blood pressure, or diabetes
• If you smoke or consume alcohol
• If you have any upcoming surgery
