X-Vir

Uses
X-Vir (Entecavir) is an anti-viral medicine commonly used to treat chronic hepatitis B infection.

It prevents the virus from spreading and infecting new cells by inhibiting the transcription and DNA replication in the multiplication process.

This drug may also be used by patients who have HIV or AIDS, although it is not promoted as a treatment against these conditions.

Dosage and administration
Take X-Vir (Entecavir) under your doctor’s instruction only. Never self-medicate, alter your prescription or share it with anyone as this may lead to dangerous side effects.

For best results, take the medicine with plenty of liquid at approximately the same time every day.

Side effects
X-Vir (Entecavir) has been studied in various trials and has shown to be an effective and generally tolerated drug by most. Side effects, though mild and temporary, may include headaches, nausea, diarrhea and/or an upset stomach.

Contact your doctor for further advice if you notice any negative symptoms. An adjustment to the dosage may help to ease the side effects.

Precautions
Tobacco, alcohol and grapefruit can all cause interactions or interference with X-Vir (Entecavir).

Notify your doctor if any of the following apply to you:

• Any other prescription and/or non-prescription medicines you have taken or currently taking
• Any supplements or vitamins you may be taking
